The teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and opportunities to take responsibility for student learning, to collaborate with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the profession.
10(b) The teacher works with other school professionals to plan and jointly facilitate learning on how to meet diverse needs of learners.
The artifact I have attached is a picture of our curriculum coach, VP, and another SPED professional working together to develop a plan for a specific student who is working on memory retention. We are discussing how the student was developing and what learning strategies were or were not successful in promoting better memory retention. The main classroom teacher had been in communication with the family on a weekly basis on the students progress at home and in the classroom using the techniques she has been working on with him. Making sure to have a line of communication open is very important, the best resource you may have is often time your other colleagues! It is important to get their feedback and learn from their knowledge, which is why meetings like this can be so beneficial to both teacher and student!
